I am a 38-year Playback veteran: Member: Boulder Playback (CO); Founder/Artistic Director: Boston Playback, and Valley Playback (Amherst, MA); Founding partner: DramaWorks InterActive (Northampton, MA). I consult to, train and perform with PT companies internationally. I’ve helped start numerous companies, and have coached many company Directors. Besides being among the first Accredited Trainers for CPT, I’ve also taught for the UK School of PT and the Skandinavisk Playbackteater Studio in Scandinavia.
Part of the first graduating class of the School of Playback (1994), I served on the first Board of IPTN and as a Strategic Advisor to the CPT as well as served on committees. I’ve been been a guest professor at Antioch (Keene, NH), NYU, Harvard, Brandeis, UMass-Amherst, Mt. Holyoke College, Amherst College, Hampshire College and the Stockholm School of Economics.
With extensive experience using Playback and other forms of theatre and action methods in organizations, I’ve spent the last 20 years teaching Leadership & Executive Presence and Storytelling programs for corporations internationally and at Executive Education programs at Harvard, Duke, Columbia, UVA and the Smith School of Business in Toronto.
I continue to collaborate and perform with Will C. and The Playback Experience in Cambridge, MA both in person and on-line. Will C. and I Co-developed the “Music: The Mysterious Link” – part of the CPT Core curriculum.
Passions and specialties, besides teaching Core, Conducting and Music, are working with ensembles to build and demonstrate connection and relationships on stage and how they serve the essence of the story. I’ve developed Playback forms now commonly used worldwide, and love teaching what I call “The Magic In The Middle”. Contact me to learn more.
