Radhika is the co-founder and artistic director of First Drop Theatre, an applied theatre company in Bangalore, India. A graduate from Centre for Playback Theatre in 2019, Radhika is also an expressive arts therapy practitioner. She conducts expressive arts and theatre based workshops across different age groups, and different functional and hierarchical groups in the health care, education and corporate sectors. She works with differently-abled individuals and children with special needs; using theatre, to help them express better, develop skills of awareness, communication and spontaneity.
Radhika aspires to create safe and non-judgmental spaces for communication and dialogue in the community using different formats of theatre including Playback theatre and Theatre of the Oppressed. She would like to continue to explore how theatre can be used as a tool for self and social awareness, for opening up conversations and for enabling deep reflections in the area of healthcare – with health care practitioners and caregivers, for mental health awareness, for addressing issues of diversity and inclusion, for community outreach, and for the holistic development of organizations.
