Heart of the Art: Ethics for Playback Theatre

After a resounding response to the first round, we are excited to open a second offering of this unique course!
As Playback Theatre expands across cultures and contexts, the ethical challenges it encounters have become more nuanced and pressing. Since its inception, Playback Theatre has been grounded in ethical responsibility – because we engage with real people and their lived experiences. Today, that responsibility calls for deeper reflection, sensitivity, and discernment. Join Jonathan Fox, co-founder of Playback Theatre, assisted by Hoa My Nguyen, for this engaging online course exploring the evolving ethical landscape of our practice. Together, we’ll examine how to respond with greater responsibility, self-awareness, and humanity. Through eight thoughtfully designed lessons and three live Zoom gatherings, you’ll gain practical tools, real-life case reflections, and community dialogue to deepen your ethical sensitivity and strengthen your Playback practice.
Open to playbackers of all experience levels—from newcomers to seasoned practitioners. If you’re ready to listen, reflect, and grow, we warmly welcome your application.
